Sacred Mountain to me is a place to help you forget about the everyday life. A place to make a new circle of friends who understand you and know you can lean on. -Mark O

Equine Therapy
Equine Therapy helps warriors overcome fear, unknowingness, & rejection, and helps build emotional awareness, confidence, trust & empathy, and problem solving skills. This is not the sole form of therapy rather a complementary therapeutic service.

Working with our hands. Hammering steel on anvil.

Working with Our Hands
Warriors will have hands on therapy. Supporting them with mental wellness through the process of creating something out of nothing. This helps build self-esteem, reduce anxiety, and strengthen coping mechanisms.

Yoga/Self-Improvement
Warriors use this time to work on themselves. They are also provided massage therapy, workout room and state of the art Infrared Saunas. Dr. Jeffrey Lieberman, MD, has completed two studies in which he had people with major depression sit in an infrared sauna. In his first study, the participants had just one infrared sauna treatment and it reduced their symptoms by about 50%. In his followup study, he found that a single session caused a rapid and powerful antidepressant effect, and the benefits continued for six weeks, which was unexpected. He concluded that whole-body hyperthermia holds promise as a safe, rapid-acting, antidepressant treatment with a prolonged therapeutic benefit.

“Cooking dinner with other veterans at the retreat was a great way to break the ice and get to know each other. Once everyone was relaxed we quickly got to know everything we could about each other. Some began to reminisce and others would talk about their struggles and ultimately….a brotherhood was formed.” Grey R. Jewett III SSgt, USMC, Retired
